Diagnostic Imaging
At Yarra Ranges Animal Hospital we use a variety of diagnostic imaging modalities to assist us with diagnosing your pets health problems. Know your pet is in good hands with our new state of the art digital x-ray and ultrasound machine.
RADIOGRAPHY
Radiology is great tool for diagnosing bone fractures, arthritic joints, cruciate ligament rupture, foreign bodies, heart problems, respiratory issues and much more. At YRAH we commonly perform hip and elbow testing for scoring for breeding animals. Dr Ben Fell is a certified member of the Penn HIP Referral Network. We can also perform pregnancy xray’s to determine the number of puppies or kittens in breeding animals.
ULTRASOUND
Ultrasonography is a non-invasive tool used to gain detailed information about your pets internal organs or body cavities. Anesthesia is rarely required and most ultrasounds can be performed under a light intravenous sedation to help your pet relax. There are many reasons for performing an ultrasound including musculoskeletal injury, cardiac disease and abdominal conditions such as liver, kidney and intestinal disease. Pregnancy ultrasound can also be used to detect early stage pregnancies to assist in successful whelping.
ENDOSCOPY
We have digital video endoscopy for examination of both gastrointestinal and airway disease in small animals.
